What you will do:

To assist in the management, development and risk management of all aspects of computer systems security within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Assist in the implementation and ongoing support of the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Appropriate Use of IT Facilities Policy and the NHS Scotland Information Security Framework.

To be responsible for setting and monitoring Cyber Security requirements across NHS Ayrshire & Arran, whilst providing day-to-day support to colleagues and clinical/non-clinical systems.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

University Degree in an IT related subject or relevant experience of Cyber Security, including specifically but not restricted to antivirus, proxies, networking and mobile device management, O365 security suite


Technical Skills should include expertise and thorough understanding of Windows Server Active Directory, all Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange online, Microsoft o365, Installation/administration of Anti-Virus, Endpoint Encryption, SIEM, application and Device Control and, Web filtering.


You should have a background in network support or hardware/software support, and should have a broad general knowledge of all main systems in use across NHS Ayrshire & Arran.


You must be able to demonstrate good troubleshooting skills in order to resolve all end user and system problems in a quick and effective manner.


You must be able to pass on information and learning to other members of Digital Services staff to allow for a spread of the knowledge base within the department as a whole.


You must be able to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical staff who possess varying degrees of digital literacy in order to convey information in a non-technical manner.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Car licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
