Tayside Mental Health Services successfully bid and secured funding from the Scottish Government to be a pathfinder site to test, design and develop a “Hub Model” for providing Early Intervention for Psychosis (EIP), led by Healthcare Improvement Scotland in partnership with Esteem EIP service in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work in Connect EIP as part of the pathfinder site and support the growth of our team. The EIP Multidisciplinary Team will have dedicated time from Psychology, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Healthcare Support, Peer Support, Administrative Support and Quality Improvement. The team are developing strong links with people who have lived experience, family/carers, wider health and social care partnership, primary care, third sector organisations’ and community organisations’.
The service also benefits from having a Lived Experience Reference Group and a Professional Implementation/Advisory Group to offer support and guidance.
In this post you will be supported to develop your existing skill set and knowledge to support individual’s aged between 16 and 35 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. We require an individual who will enjoy working in a challenging environment as part of a community based multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be experienced in working with individuals with psychosis and their families/carers, as well as be able to support the development of the service. Candidates will have excellent communication and networking skills, the ability to work autonomously and creatively to support the development of local networks. Candidates will also contribute to the development and delivery of work based learning opportunities.
You must have a driving licence, a car and be prepared to travel across Dundee to visit people and be responsive to assertive outreach work.
