What you will do:

To work autonomously as part of the AHP team, the post holder will provide a high standard of care to patients who have been delegated to them by Registered Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Staff.  They will assess patients and carry their own caseload, initiating and implementing treatment programmes according to protocols and pathways set by registered staff, monitoring patient progress within scope of practice. They will work without direct supervision, reporting patient progress and informing registered AHP staff of any deviations from protocol/pathways. The post holder is also responsible for monitoring, replenishing, and ordering stock and supplies.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Previous experience working as a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Support Worker
  • Able to work, and demonstrate knowledge at a NVQ3 level plus knowledge skills development , group work . Majority of work will be of a non – routine level, with theoretical knowledge to back this up. This work will be of deploma equivalent
  • Current UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • An understanding of relevant health conditions
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people as part of a team
  • Ability to work in isolation without direct supervision
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative
  • Ability to work closely with people in various settings with a variety of physical or mental health issues
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Digital Literacy skills
  • Ability to prioritise and carry out assigned tasks effectively​​​​​​​
