The shift pattern for this position is Mon – Fri 9-5 with occasional evening/weekend as required.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join Glasgow City HSCP’s North West Health Improvement Team as a Health Improvement Practitioner. This post has is located within Stream D which has responsibility for work programmes including place based working, mental health & wellbeing, suicide prevention, and equalities. (All team members are also required to deliver on and support programmes of work across the wider Health Improvement team.) The post holder is responsible for delivering aspects of the Development Plan within the HSCP and ensuring the implementation of defined health improvement work streams in line with local, city and national priorities. They are required to provide health improvement expertise and advice to develop colleagues/partners/communities capacity to promote health and reduce health inequalities. The post holder will work in partnership with key public and third sector organisations along with local partners and communities to progress key programmes of work. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to improving health, reducing inequalities and delivering better outcomes. Educated to degree level the post holder should have experience of working within health improvement/public health arena, partnership working, community engagement, project management and a good understanding of public health priorities and health inequalities.
