NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. Do you have an interest working with people in Tayside who are affected by Major Trauma? Could you work as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to delivering optimum clinical care in the hospital setting and maximising rehabilitation potential in hospital and following discharge into the community setting?

NHS Tayside opened as a Major Trauma Centre in 2018 at Ninewells Hospital. A strong focus on high quality multidisciplinary integrated working is fundamental to its success. An Allied Health Professions Rehabilitation Pathway has been developed that aims to provide evidence-based practice and best patient experience possible. This would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 Dietitian or an experienced Band 5 Dietitian with relevant clinical experience. The post holder plays a crucial role in supporting the Major Trauma dietetic team lead to ensure patients admitted following major trauma receive the expected high standards of care throughout their journey. You will carry a clinical caseload and be responsible for the implementation of the pathway by contributing to education, training and development, particularly in the community. You must be able to demonstrate clinical reasoning, extensive relevant experience and sound knowledge of Nutrition and Dietetic assessment, acute management, treatment and rehabilitation.

Excellent working relationships exist with dietetic colleagues throughout NHS Tayside via the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service and the Tayside Nutrition Network to develop and implement evidence-based practice, receive peer support and help to progress Continuous Professional Development. There is also a commitment to training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously are required.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
