Primary Care Clinical Informatician – GP
Hours: 2-8 PAs/sessions available (subject to agreement)
These positions are for 23 Months Fixed Term / Secondment

The Post:
The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world class Digital and Security expertise, solutions and services to our customers, which include NSS, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and the wider Public Sector in Scotland.
The National Clinical Informatics Service for Scotland (NCISS) is involved in Clinical Safety Assurance of Health IT; Software as a Medical Device; Health & Care Analytics; Clinical Terminologies; Digital Health & Care Solutions; Clinical Data & Information; Research & Innovation; and Training & Events.
The Candidate:
Primary Care Informatics is a subsidiary of NCISS. Primary Care Informaticians (GPs) assist with cohort generation (ie for vaccination programmes), provide GP informatics advice to national groups and Scottish Government, provide input to clinical safety cases (ie GPIT), and impact national rollout of GP In-Hours Practice Activity Data dashboards and QI. This post will provide GP informatics guidance to the new Primary Care Data and Intelligence Platform.
Applications are invited from individuals who have an active clinical registration and knowledge of clinical safety approaches in the context of IT solutions.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must be on the GP Register of the GMC with a licence to practise in the UK at the time of applying.
Location and Working Pattern:
Location - Any NSS Location.
Currently hybrid working.
Work Pattern - Monday to Friday, between 2-8 PAs/sessions per week are available (subject to agreement).
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
