What you will do:
This specialist role provides support to Clinicians and other health care professionals in the management of cancer patient care pathway.
The Patient Pathway Co-ordinators record and track urgent referrals received through Ayr and Crosshouse hospitals. Working collaboratively with staff across the speciality(s), the post holder assists in scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests and treatment to ensure that assessment and treatment is managed within nationally agreed cancer access targets.
You will support weekly monitoring and reporting of cancer waiting times within NHS Ayrshire and Arran and is required to provide up to date data to key stakeholders to assist in the calculation of cancer waiting times and early identification of potential breaches of the targets.
You will coordinates multi-disciplinary cancer team meetings in which clinical decisions and patient management plans are discussed, supports regular audit and contributes to the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Cancer Treatment Helpline in collaboration with NHS24.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
- Clerical/reception experience and/or Information Technology/Business Administration qualification (HNC);
- ECDL or equivalent;
- Evidence of continued personal development;
- Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision;
- An understanding of the Scottish Health Service in particular the Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness structures;
- Knowledge of Health Records policies and procedures including data subject access, confidentiality and protection of personal information.
- Demonstrable skills obtained in previous role(s) which has shown:
- High level of communication skills, both oral and written and with good interpersonal skills;
- Influencing and negotiating skills;
- Good time management skills;
- Experience of working in and with teams;
- Knowledge and application of all Microsoft Office Professional packages;
- Driving Licence desirable;
- To maintain confidentiality of patient data at all times and ensure awareness of the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998), GDPR (2018) and Caldecott.
