We invite suitable applicants to join us as Deputy Manager for the Quality Assurance Department at NHSS PSS. Applicants must be registered experienced Pharmacists with GPhC registration. Please see the Person Specification.
Duties include:
- To be responsible for the operational management of the Quality Assurance Department
- To deputise for the QA Manager and advise on quality issues
- To ensure the principles of GMP, GLP, GCP, GDP and other relevant legislation are followed
- To implement and maintain the quality management system against requirements of ISO 9001
- To undertake the acceptance of raw materials and the release of finished products
- To support the provision of a pharmaceutical quality assurance service to NHS Tayside (NHST)
We are a licensed NHS pharmaceutical manufacturer based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee supplying hospitals throughout the UK and community pharmacies. NHSS PSS also holds a Manufacturer’s Authorisation (Investigational Medicinal Products).

The aim of the QA department is to provide a complete service which ensures all products and services are fit for their intended use and do not place patients at risk due to inadequate quality. QA strive to meet
this aim by continually improving and developing our processes. Staff working in QA take pride in their work, respect their colleagues and feel confident in raising any concerns with a manager.
This post is suitable for individuals who enjoy learning and working with accuracy and attention to detail, both alone and as part of a team.
Hours of work are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
