Band 6 (Annex 21) Trainee Clinical Physiologist (4 years)
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
Starting Salary: £22,827 pa (Annex 21 Paragraph 2 (iii))
On successful completion of training programme the post holder will progress to Band 6 Specialised Clinic Physiologist
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to join our team and train for a career as a Clinical Physiologist and gain a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology from Glasgow Caledonian University.
This is an intensive 4 year training post. The successful candidate will attend university 2 days week during term time while gaining practical experience 3 days a week within the clinical setting. Frequent periods of self-directed study as well as the clinical demands of a busy hospital department make it essential that the successful applicant requires to be highly motivated with excellent time management skills.
The post holder will be trained to perform all specialised investigations, including EEG, NCS & EP, delivered by our service to both outpatients and inpatients, including bed side recordings in settings such as Intensive Care and High Dependency Units.
Applicants should preferably already posess a science related degree however minimum educational requirements for this post are SQA Highers at BBC or BCCC grades.
Excellent communication and IT skills are essential and experience within a healthcare setting would be advantageous.
Applicants should be aware that progression through this 4 year training period is dependent on successful completion of practical and theory assessments each year and that failure to complete may lead to removal from the training programme.
