An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse Team within the Emergency Department.  As a Senior Charge Nurse working within the Emergency Department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, you will have clinical, professional and managerial responsibility on a 24-hour basis including all clinical and governance issues.  You will provide strong leadership, excellent communication skills and have the ability to develop and support staff with clinical expertise.  You will be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising basic standards of care and professionalism.

You must have advanced clinical expertise and be willing to participate in research and audit projects.  In return we will offer you excellent managerial support and commitment to your professional development.

You will be able to demonstrate that you can manage a dedicated team to deliver nursing care of the highest standards to our patients, while working under pressure.  Considerable post-qualification experience in emergency/acute nursing is essential.

Hours: 37.5hrs per week - working rotational shift pattern over 7 days including both days and nights (12.5 hour shifts)
