Salary Range: £30,229 – 37,664 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Hours: 37.5 hours (pro rata part-time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Senior Commodity Officer (Commercial Team) – 2 posts within Procurement Services, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
About Us

We provide the full range of Acute, Mental Health, Community and Primary Care services to a diverse population of 1.2 million people in six local authority areas. Regional and national services are also provided across a range of clinical specialties.
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has a trade spend with third party suppliers of over £811m with the Procurement Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions. This includes strategic sourcing and advice to improve effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services and works.
The Role
We have 2 vacant Senior Commodity Officers within our Commercial Team. The Senior Commodity Officer will ensure that the procurement of goods, services and works are carried out in a professional manner, and delivered in accordance with legal requirements, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Standing Financial Instructions thereby ensuring best value outcomes are achieved.
We are seeking candidates who are educated to degree level or equivalent and preferably hold at least CIPS Diploma (Level 4) or equivalent, are proficient in the field of procurement and purchasing and within a large scale, multi-discipline environment and have the ability to communicate complex, contentious and sensitive information to a large group in an often emotive atmospheres in different environments. Experience of Health/NHS Procurement and use of Business Objects (or similar) reporting tools is desirable
