This is a permanent post within the older people’s mental health team in the North West HSCP based at the Glenkirk Resource Centre. You will provide an occupational therapy service to service users referred to the older people’s mental health service. You will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and interventions to individuals with severe and/or enduring mental health problems, cognitive impairment and dementia. This includes the use of standardised occupational therapy assessments and outcome measures. You will carry a caseload of cases requiring occupational therapy intervention, and will also contribute to generic team tasks such as duty. You will also be involved in the development and delivery of therapeutic groups. Occupational Therapy within the team is well established with systems and processes in place. Support and supervision is in place via Band 6 Occupational Therapist and Lead Occupational Therapist. You will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a degree in Occupational Therapy. Previous experience of working in mental health is desirable. You will have will have excellent clinical skills, be an effective communicator and be committed to working as part of a team.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm
