If so, we are seeking to recruit a Deputy Accountable Pharmacist to join the Aseptic Dispensing Unit (ADU) in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. Dundee is Scotland’s fourth largest and sunniest city. Ninewells is a major teaching hospital in NHS Tayside, Scotland’s fourth largest healthcare provider, delivering a wide range of specialties. Within the ADU you will work with the Accountable Pharmacist and an excellent team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of a high quality, patient-centred aseptic service, including participation in, and preparation, for internal and external audits and the delivery of service improvement plans. You will manage the ADU in the absence of the Accountable Pharmacist providing supervision and ensuring adherence to the quality management system, supporting the further development of your management and leadership skills.

The post holder will be a registrant of the General Pharmaceutical Council, have completed Stage II Hospital Pharmacist Vocational Training/Foundation Training Programme and have a post graduate Diploma/MSC in a relevant field or demonstrate evidence of advanced professional practice knowledge, training and experience equivalent to that level (e.g. development of a professional portfolio such as RPS Faculty). Applications are welcomed from band 7 pharmacists working towards the completion of a diploma/MSC, in this case applicants would remain on a band 7 scale until diploma/MSC completion.
The post holder will be required to contribute to weekend, extended hours and public holiday rotas as per service requirements.

Hours of work are: 37.5 Hours per week worked over a 7 day week. Applications are also welcomed from Pharmacists wishing to work part time hours or as a job share.
