Renfrewshire HSCP’s Planning and Health Improvement Service are recruiting 0.8 WTE Permanent Band 6 Health Improvement Senior. The post holder will have responsibility for a broad portfolio of health improvement and health inequalities work in line with the Renfrewshire HSCP Strategic Plan, NHSGG&C and Scottish Government’s Health Improvement priorities and local health needs. They will have responsibility for the development and delivery of a variety of work streams, and in providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure action on Poverty and Child Poverty, the Child Poverty Act (2017) and its mitigation, and with a focus on equalities. The post holder will be required to act in an advisory capacity to provide specialist health improvement support to colleagues and partners, providing work stream management and staff management.
The post holder will be responsible for establishing and sustaining links internally within NHS GGC Board and with key external partners/clients/communities to promote health improvement and address inequalities in health.
Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent and have at least three years’ experience of working in health improvement, public health or a relevant health/health improvement arena. Applicants are expected to demonstrate skills in line with the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework (2016).
