Job Advert

We are looking to welcome a new colleague to join an enthusiastic, motivated, and supportive team of 21 Consultant Emergency Physicians (17 WTE) dedicated to providing care that is patient-centred, safe, and clinically effective.

As an EM consultant group, we believe strongly in providing a sustainable work/life balance. A PA is included for each on call. Clinical administration time has been factored in as per RCEM guidance. There is a 24-hour middle grade rota filled with a mixture of Trainees from the South- East Scotland rotation, specialty doctors and clinical development fellows. There are no plans for consultant nightshifts in the near future.

We perform well in key areas such as sepsis, stroke thrombolysis and trauma management. We have an excellent relationship and collaborate closely with all in-patient teams. As a department we are committed to teaching and providing a positive experience of EM to our junior doctors. Our trainees rate their experiences in Fife highly and this is recognised regionally and in GMC surveys.

NHS Fife welcomes applications from both newly qualified and established Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join and expand our motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated team. They will be encouraged to develop a specialist interest relevant to Emergency medicine so complementing current Consultants’ interests.

Applicants who wish to arrange job plans to accommodate other professional interests are encouraged to apply.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).

Interviews will be held on Monday 13th November 2023
