As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services

Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post will be based in our Lumina Regional Centre. NHS 24 also supports Hybrid Working.

The Role…..

The HR Case Advisor as a first line HR Case advisor providing support to HR Employee Relations team, Managers and Staff on a range of HR issues covering the interpretation of ER Policies, Procedures and Terms and Conditions. Provide HR case management support to the Business Partner and HR Advisors for all Employee Relations. The HR Case Advisor will support the delivery of a professional and proactive HR service, meeting the needs of the service users.  The role also includes HR case development, including participating in the Attendance Management agenda and project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinating meetings regarding capability, disciplinary and appeal hearings
  • To provide general HR advice, guidance and support to all managers and employees on ER case queries
  • Develop, implement, and monitor administrative processes to ensure the efficiency and quality of the delivery of ER cases
  • Advise and support managers with employee relations cases including participating in formal  hearings and investigations as requested. E.g. disciplinaries, grievances, attendance management meetings
  • Facilitate and participate in Employee Relations case conferences in accordance with local procedures and good practice
  • Develop, implement, and monitor process for all ER cases
  • Take and produce an accurate record from formal meetings
  • Management of ER case files ensuring HR Advisors awareness and input at the correct stages of the process
  • Responsible for the analysis and preparation of HR Management Information reports
  • Generation and maintenance of accurate ER case files to ensure that information is up to date, stored securely, is readily retrievable and complies with GDPR.
  • Manage the ER case calendar, including arranging and co-ordinating the meetings for HR Business partners and Advisors to ensure all ER meetings are within the policy timelines in the correct format
  • Responsible for the collation and distribution of data for all ER cases

Successful applicant:

  • Strong background in HR administration and case management experience
  • A proficient user of all Microsoft 365 packages and associated applications
  • HRM degree or related business studies degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to prioritise workload and balance conflicting priorities
  • Ability to communicate and influence verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals with differing levels of understanding.
  • Positive outward attitude, proactive and creative, looks to seek out solutions and improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Employee Relations issues


Benefits:

NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a temporary contract on Band 5 £30,229 - £37,664 (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.

Fixed Term or Secondment with the potential to run up until end of March 2024
