Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and supportive Medicines Information (MI) team within the Pharmacy Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The Grampian Medicines Information Centre is one of 4 Scottish Regional Centres listed in the British National Formulary and deals with a large volume of medicine related enquiries every year.

As a newly developed post within our team, you will play a significant role in the provision of a Medicines Information service to all healthcare professionals in any setting across NHS Grampian, NHS Shetland and NHS Orkney. You will provide teaching and training to local pharmacy team members, have a clinical duty on a ward within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, answer medicines related enquiries and support the development of guidelines and policies.

You will be supported to undertake the Accredited Medicines Information Training Programme for Pharmacy Technicians if not already completed.

You will be a registered pharmacy technician with excellent communication and organisational skills and the desire to provide a high quality, safe, effective and efficient service.

If you are interested in this post and would like more information please contact Rebecca Anderson, Lead Pharmacist Medicines Information or Andrew Wilson, Principal Pharmacist Quality and Governance on 01224 552316 or email rebecca.anderson9@nhs.scot and andrew.wilson4@nhs.scot.

We would be delighted to speak to you about any elements of the post or to arrange an informal visit.
