Health Protection Officer - Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Grampian’s Health Protection Team to recruit a Health Protection Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a relatively new and evolving role within the Health Protection Team, which involves working alongside another Health Protection Officer, Consultants, Nurse Specialists, Health Protection Nurses and the TB service in the surveillance, investigation and control of communicable diseases and non-infectious environmental hazards.

The post holder will be responsible for collecting pertinent details from the public regarding their communicable diseases, and providing them with information to control the spread of infection. The post holder will also be responsible for data preparation, extraction and collation in order to develop regular reports to inform surveillance, epidemiology and policy development. The post holder will liaise with a wide range of partners, such as local and national laboratories, local authorities, GP’s, community nursing staff and the general public.
