TRAINEE ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER
Vacancy: Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (tANP)
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Acute Medicine of Unscheduled Care for a qualified registered nurse - Band 6 Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our innovative, forward thinking, friendly and supportive nursing and medical teams.
We are looking for a team player wanting to help the Acute Medicine to continue with its success and contribute to its key performance measures. The role of the Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner will provide improved outcomes for patients by improving the quality of their stay in hospital. They will support senior medical staff in ensuring continuity and efficiency in service delivery.
The successful applicant interested in a Trainee position will hold a BSc; and may have a PgCert or PgDip qualifications in Advanced Practice. Independent Non-medical Prescribing (INMP) qualification is not mandatory but we would be expecting to put a successful candidate through the course and/or other studies necessary to fulfil the role of an ANP.
In addition to the pre-requisite clinical qualifications for the particular role sought, the successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years post-registration extensive clinical experience, especially within Acute Medicine. We would expect the candidate to be able to demonstrate high standards of clinical care, sound decision making and excellent interpersonal skills. The role encompasses hands-on clinical nursing and is well suited to an individual who is motivated to reach their potential within an innovative and forward thinking environment. Clinical skills progression will be expected to be undertaken and training will be provided in areas such as carrying out lumbar punctures, arterial blood gas procedures, virtual assessments and so on. A particular interest in audit and medicines management is also essential for the role and so is the interest in service redesign and expansion.
