Full–time 37.5 hours per week (Fixed term for 11 months)

The Department of Biomedical Sciences is a UKAS accredited multidisciplinary laboratory, providing Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, and Blood Transfusion services to Dr Gray’s Hospital.

Experience in a Clinical Laboratory is desirable but not essential, as full training in all sections of the laboratory will be given.

The department utilises APEX and eTraceline laboratory information systems and has recently introduced paperless test requesting via TrakCare Order Communications.

The city of Elgin is situated in Moray, an area of exceptional beauty, stretching from the shores of the Moray Firth to the Cairngorm Mountains. Situated approximately 40 miles from Inverness and 70 miles from Aberdeen it has good rail, road and air links. It offers an excellent quality of life and access to a wide range of recreational facilities including skiing, walking, cycling and water sports.
