A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Dosimetrist to join the Treatment Planning & Imaging Section of Radiotherapy Physics at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
The Centre operates thirteen Varian linear accelerators, including Truebeam, Edge and a newly installed Ethos Adaptive Radiotherapy system. In addition to delivering complex external beam Radiotherapy, the Centre has a large Brachytherapy Service that consists of two Bravos HDR delivery systems and a Prostate Seed service. The external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning is supported by CTSimulators and a MRI RT Simulator. The successful candidate will prepare specialised VMAT and Brachytherapy treatment plans, for a wide range of clinical sites, and will also participate in the delivery of Brachytherapy Treatments. The successful candidate will be based at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow but may be required to carry out some duties at the Lanarkshire Beatson satellite centre in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.
Applicants should hold a degree in Medical Technology, BSc in Therapeutic Radiography or another relevant discipline. An HNC/HND or equivalent qualifications in Applied Physics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering may be accepted.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience working in Radiotherapy physics.
