The WoS Innovation Hub (www.woshealthinnovation.scot) aims is to foster and develop an environment across the West of Scotland, and nationally, that encourages, accelerates and adopts innovations within the NHS and Social Care.

Expressions of interest are now invited for the Clinical Lead west of Scotland Innovation Hub. This post is supported by Health Innovation Test Bed Funding from Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to lead the development of innovations across the west of Scotland Innovation Hub to specifically address current NHS challenges, in partnership with industry, higher education institutions, and the third sector.

The successful applicant will be a clinical leader currently practicing within the West of Scotland with a strong Track record in Innovation. You will be skilled at building and maintaining strategic relationships with partners, securing external funding, and creating innovative solutions to complex health and social care needs.  The ability to work across traditional NHS Health Board boundaries and organisations is essential as is the ability to manage change within a complex environment.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams you will lead and promote innovation across the West of Scotland region, support the development of consortia to take innovation projects forward for funding, and advise on innovation regulation and governance. You will work closely with the wider WoS Innovation Hub Team, and with the existing WoS Clinical Themed Innovation Leads ( cancer, paediatrics, mental health and Pharmacy).

This posts is linked to project funding within the WoS Innovation Hub to “pump-prime” suitable innovation projects, including potential funding for open innovation challenge / Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Competitions.

Please note that it is the responsibility of each applicant to obtain written approval from their current employer, ahead of submitting an application, that they will be fully supported to undertake this additional activity.

It should be noted that, as per regional agreement, it is the responsibility of current employing Boards to meet any additional costs that may be incurred and that no application will be progressed without written confirmation of this.
