The Role
Responsible for supporting the MRP Project Management Team and the Property Support Services Division to provide a comprehensive, professional and multi-disciplined project management and operational service that supports successful delivery of the Monklands Replacement Project. This role is specifically focussed on the delivery of the formulation, development and implementation of the strategy for estates maintenance services across NHSL and MRP, from first principles covering various Hard FM services by providing specialist support and professional technical expertise. This includes the development and implementation of change processes for the transition to the new MRP within PSSD.
To provide specialist professional and technical management and leadership across a number of disciplines to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of all building, engineering, construction and maintenance including grounds and equipment services in all properties that are owned or occupied by NHSL.
The post holder is the senior professional Head of Estates Services to provide specialist knowledge, expertise and leadership on estates and Equipment services including expert advice and technical support to senior management teams and directors on the strategic development of the estate in relation to its clinical development and long term objectives.
To receive highly complex facts and sensitive information and the preparation of management reports for submission to senior management teams within NHSL as appropriate on all building, engineering and equipment related services to critical services.
The post holder will have responsibility for undertaking the role of Designated Person as delegated for the relevant statutory undertakings associated with building, engineering, grounds and equipment services.
The post holder will have responsibility for the management of the health and safety procedures and policies within the estates department and by utilising a risk management approach ensure the various premises comply with safety legislation e.g. NHS Firecode, Health and Safety Executive guidance etc, in addition having responsibility for ensuring plant and systems compliance with statute and manufacturers performance criteria.

What we'll need you to bring
- Professionally educated to Masters Degree level in an appropriate discipline and a corporate member of an approved Chartered Institution is essential., or
- Relevant experience in a senior management role in an associated discipline and multi discipline organisation.
- The post holder must be highly motivated and self-directed individual committed to and achieving set objectives, which underpin the corporate objectives of NHSL.
- Have good interpersonal and problem solving skills along with the ability to manage change.
- Having specialist knowledge of the current legislation and guidance in relation to the broader fields, which will have an impact on the strategic direction of NHSL.
- Have communication, interpretation and influencing skills along with people management skills and the ability to operate in a supportive facilitative manner.
- Have the ability to develop and influence strategies within the department.

This role will be based in Monklands Replacement Project within University Hospital Monklands.
