Job Advert
A number of exciting opportunities have arisen as a result of investment from the Scottish Government for suitably qualified CAAPs to join NHS Forth Valley CAMHS and PNDD Service. We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic CAAPs to work within the Core CAMHS (Mental Health) sub-specialty and Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Service and would also welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification and part-time workers.
NHS Forth Valley CAMHS is a well established service with a new senior management team. The psychology team is organised into sub-specialities with psychological leadership and specialist clinical supervision within each area of expertise. We offer multiple therapeutic modalities including: CBT, IPT, FBT, Systemic Family Therapy, ABA, EMDR, Art Therapy and ACT, which are professionally governed by Psychological Services, NHS Forth Valley.
We support children and young people aged from 0 to 18 years and their carers/families and offer a range of highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions, which often includes multi-agency work with our partners. As part of a programme of transformational change, we are currently implementing CAPA and re-designing the psychological provision at all levels of service provision with the aim of placing the needs of children and young people at the centre of the partnerships we establish with families. The post holder will play a key role in supervising and delivering specialist psychological care in relation to increasing access to psychological interventions locally. There are also good opportunities to get involved in quality improvement work.
NHS Forth Valley Psychology staff receive regular clinical and operational supervision and supportive line management, including job planning. As part of job planning, all staff are supported to develop and establish areas of specialist clinical interest and we have a varied in-house programme of clinical CPD. We also have very good links with national bodies and close links with training courses and offer placements to trainees from the Doctoral, EPP and MSc courses.
Candidates must have a Psychology Degree or equivalent with a Masters qualification in Applied Psychology with Children & Young People and have experience of working with children and young people in a CAMHS setting.
The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
