Are you a skilled, ambitious and forward thinking pharmacist?

Would you appreciate a chance to learn more about HIV?

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist, with excellent clinical knowledge, to temporarily join our friendly, dedicated and supportive HIV Pharmacy team.  You will work closely with the pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality pharmaceutical care to out-patients living with HIV.

Responsibilities will include:

  • attendance and contribution to multidisciplinary meetings,
  • clinical assessment of prescription requests for appropriateness,
  • reviewing patients in our HIV outpatient pharmacist clinic (Mon & Tue), and
  • responding to clinical enquires from a multitude of sources.

Under the direction of the senior team, you will have the opportunity to develop wider skill sets pertinent to advancing practice, such as leadership and service management, and will play an active role in clinical governance and effectiveness to ensure delivery of high quality care to these vulnerable patients.

You should have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and have completed or be working towards final submission of the Scottish Hospital Pharmacy Vocational Training Scheme or equivalent experience.  The Independent Prescriber qualification and prior experience of HIV are desirable but not essential.
