Salaried General Practitioner - Permanent
6 Sessions per week (28.5 hrs per week) – Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Post based at Restalrig Park Medical Centre, in the Leith Portobello Area of Edinburgh

We are offering the chance to join our super-friendly and supportive team of 7 part-time GPs with great working relationships with our wider multidisciplinary team in the practice.  As a salaried 2c practice all of our doctors, nurses and staff are employed directly by NHS Lothian - this means we can offer an attractive & very competitive starting salary based on experience, along with cover under the Clinical Negligence & Other Risks Indemnity Scheme (CNORIS).     

Newly qualified GP’s would be offered a starting salary of £82,576 pro-rata rising to £104,469 pro-rata for GP’s with 8 years experience or more.  

Working hours 8.00-6.00pm on full days, paid for 9.5hrs with a half hour unpaid lunch.  Paid for extra hours worked beyond contracted hours.  33 days holiday plus public holiday (pro-rata).  Variable start times can be negotiated.

Our appointment systems are flexible and allow you to dedicate the time needed to the individual patient needs and arrange priorities according to your workload.  We have no current nursing home commitment and have a generally low visit rate within a geographically compact catchment area.  

We are open to interest from both newly qualified and more experienced GP’s.Mondays are an essential requirement however the days of the remaining sessions are negotiable. We have regular clinical meetings where you will be involved in the decision making process within the practice.

We are also a Training Practice so there will be a requirement to assist the other doctors with daily supervision of our trainee doctor.  There may also be the opportunity to assist with 2nd year student teaching if this interests you. 

You will be vocationally qualified (MRCGP), enthusiastic and patient centred with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will have had experience of working with people of all backgrounds and conditions.
