An opportunity has arisen to join the General Dental Services (GDS) team within the Oral Health Directorate (OHD), NHS GGC as a Dental Practice Adviser.
The GDS team provides administrative support to 831 general dental practitioners in NHS GGC in accordance with the National Health Services (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2010. Any necessary pastoral support, advice and associated expertise is provided to these contractors by suitably experienced and clinically active Dental Practice Advisers (DPA). In addition you will contribute to and promote the improvement in quality of care throughout general dental practice, and advise the OHD on all matters relating to NHS General Dental Services, working in close liaison with other professional staff. You will work with the Lead DPA in all aspects of GDS including the implementation of the Oral Health Improvement Plan (OHIP) and may be required to participate in the Primary Care Operational Management Team on a delegated basis.
The successful candidate will be a qualified and GDC registered practice owning dentist with a minimum of 10 years GDP experience, be currently clinically active and spend the majority of their clinical time delivering NHS dental services. They will have up to date knowledge and awareness of legislation affecting the practice of dentistry, be conversant with the NHS Regulations and have a broad understanding of Clinical Governance. The role currently available will be 2 sessions per week, days and time to be agreed.
