Job Title: Clinical Development Fellow in Orthopaedics

Department: Trauma and Orthopaedics

Base: New Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

You may also be required to work at any of NHS Lothian’s sites.

This Clinical Development Fellow post is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for a period of 12 months. The working pattern, training and working opportunities are the same as those of the local specialty trainees. The successful candidate will be based within a trauma team with on associated on calls on an approximately 1 in 12 basis. There will be some cover of elective services as required.

There is expected to be a high level of trauma and operative experience for the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high level of competence and efficiency in dealing with the A&E and ward care of a range of orthopaedic cases from elderly patients to simple fractures to multiply injured patients

Please note the person specification – successful applicants will have completed a successful FY training programme or equivalent and will have less than 18 months orthopaedic experience.
