The Role
Assists Speech and Language Therapists by undertaking a variety of tasks/routine interventions under the direction of the Speech and Language Therapist across varied locations and with different client groups. The post holder will be working within the adult learning disability service.

What we'll need you to bring
- SVQ III in Health and Social Care or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
- Ability to work with people and part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient/client care/therapy tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques and/or activities relating to client group.
- Car Driver with full UK driving licence.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in a health, education or social care environment or formal qualification appropriate to care group
- Experience working alongside speech and language therapists.
- Experience of working with adults or children with communication or swallowing difficulties.
- Proficient I.T. skills which include a working knowledge of Microsoft Packages.
- Understanding of impact of communication and swallowing difficulties on adults and children
- Creative skills to make therapy resources
- Experience using communication skills to assist others, care and compassion and supporting others to learn and develop

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Speech and Language Therapy Team within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.
