Chief Executive, NHS Dumfries and Galloway

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is a Health Board with ambition and vision. We are working with our partners to make our communities the best place to live active, safe and healthy lives through a programme of Health and Social Care integration which is the most extensive in Scotland.
As our strategic lead you will be accountable to NHS Dumfries & Galloway Board Chair for the delivery of the Board’s health strategies and plans for the population for Dumfries & Galloway.
You will also be accountable to the Scottish Parliament for the propriety and regularity of financial transactions under their control and for the economical, efficient and effective use of resources for the delivery of clinical, financial and staff governance within Dumfries & Galloway NHS Board.
Given the current financial challenges facing NHS Scotland, you will form strategies that draw upon population, social and economic health which will be connected to the needs of our local communities.
You will also ensure that these strategies and strategic ambitions are connected to the lives of frontline staff, hence building a shared commitment, identity and sense of purpose for what can be shared together. In addition, delivering this role you will support the organisation to build a culture that is based on the principles of inclusion, compassion and safety across our organisation and our community.
Educated to master’s level or equivalent, you will have already demonstrated your expertise as a compassionate, values based inspirational leader in a complex organisation. You will have a track record of leading and delivering transformational change to services, working collaboratively with partners.
We are looking for a talented and exceptional individual with a record of accomplishment and leadership in complex healthcare delivery.
You will build on our success as one of the higher performing territorial Boards in Scotland whilst developing plans to improve efficiency as we address a substantial financial recovery programme.
You will provide leadership to the executive team and support the Board to maintain our cultural competence.
