Nurse Consultant – Health Protection (Band 8B) Ref: 166344

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Grampian Health Protection Team as Nurse Consultant for Health Protection.                                                       

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, educated SCQF Level 11 e.g. Masters qualification in a relevant health area, who has extensive post registration experience as a senior decision maker in health protection.

The post holder will be expected to provide the specialist public health response in relation to health protection incidents; undertaking unsupervised health protection practice, and also lead strategically on the control of communicable disease and environmental health issues, through agreed projects and policy areas across NHS Grampian.

The NHS Grampian Public Health system has strong partnerships across Public, Private, Third Sector, and communities in the North East with many examples of good practice and innovation to protect and improve population health. The Nurse Consultant for Health Protection is a senior member of the Public Health Team and will provide robust, strategic and health protection leadership within the highly specialised Health Protection Team and contribute to the implementation of the strategic vision for Public Health and NHS Grampian.

Within this role in the Health Protection Team and as part of the NHS Grampian Public Health system, you will be surrounded by people who aspire to put population health at the centre of everything we do.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team of people who together, make a significant contribution to protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of the population of Grampian.
