PET RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTION UNIT – West of Scotland PET Centre

QUALITY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

BAND 7

We are looking to appoint a Quality Systems Specialist to work in a small Quality Assurance team within the PET Radiopharmaceutical Production Unit (PET RPU) at the West of Scotland PET Centre. The successful candidate will provide highly specialised quality assurance services within the PET RPU manufacturing service for established and novel PET radiopharmaceuticals.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills knowledge and experience:

Advanced specialist knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Management Systems and the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practise. Knowledge of the manufacture and aseptic preparation of sterile products.

Expertise and practical knowledge in – Quality Assurance and Quality Management.

Good Manufacturing Practise and the design, development, implementation and maintenance of a Pharmaceutical Quality Management System.  Operation of cleanroom and associated equipment for the aseptic preparation of clinical product.  Preparation and management of controlled documentation.  Operating under a Manufacturing ‘Specials’ (MS) licence. Audit by Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) or other regulatory body.

Experience in the production of Radiopharmaceuticals would be beneficial.

An honours degree in Pharmaceutical / Biomedical Sciences or allied subject. Higher degree qualification in Quality Management would be an advantage.

State registration as a Clinical Scientist or willingness to engage in a process leading to state registration within a regulated profession is required.

The candidate must have good interpersonal skills, an ability to lead and motivate staff as well as collaborate with staff groups internal and external to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

You will work 37.50 hours a week, Monday to Friday, within the core operational hours of the PET RPU which are 04:30 to 14:30 Monday to Friday. The PET RPU is located on the Gartnavel Hospital Campus.
