The Role

TESS is a pan Lanarkshire service, based within the Buchanan Centre in Coatbridge. The service offers psychologically led, innovative treatment to people living in the community and works directly with adults and their families/carers who have severe eating disorders resulting in complex needs.  The team is multi-disciplinary in nature and the successful candidate will have day to day management accountability for a number of professions including Dietetics, Psychology, Nursing and Occupational Therapy.

The post holder will carry overall responsibility for the day to day operational management of a Specialist Tertiary Eating Disorder Service and will work collaboratively with the Consultant Psychologist who will have overall accountability for the clinical leadership of the service and lead on the strategic vision of TESS.  The post holder will be required to work in partnership with the professional leads for each discipline.

Additional Information Specific to the Role

  • To provide day to day operational management within the multi-disciplinary tertiary eating disorder team.
  • To be accountable for ensuring all systems in relation to rostering, absence management, annual leave, training etc are maintained.
  • Ensure clinical and managerial supervision is in place for all qualified staff.
  • To be the first point of contact for all team members with regards to support, advice or guidance around day to day work related issues.
  • To investigate and deal with any informal/formal complaints or concerns.
  • To work in partnership with the Consultant Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist to ensure the delivery of a psychologically informed, clinically effective and high quality service for people with eating disorders.
  • To support the Consultant Psychologist to align the application of national policies to meet local need.
  • To lead and implement on service development or quality improvement projects in partnership with the Consultant Psychologist.
  • To carry a defined clinical caseload of referred patients.

What we'll need you to bring

Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration

Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level

Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. 

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.

Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.

Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development

Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification

The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative

Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.

Effective time management skills

Working knowledge of basic information technology

 

It would be great if you also have

Community nursing experience

Management of multi disciplinary team

Knowledge of  I.T systems

Knowledge of, and use of holistic risk assessment
