NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to lead on the development and delivery of a psychologically informed system of care for the Homelessness and Housing Support Service (HHSS) in Edinburgh

The post-holder will support the delivery of psychological interventions across all levels of a matched care model (including direct delivery of psychological therapies for more complex presentations), and will lead on a programme of psychologically/trauma informed service development, that will likely include a range of audit, research, and QI activities; staff training and supervision; and running regular reflective practice groups for hostel staff

This post-holder will become part of the NHS Substance Misuse Psychology Team (and will be line managed by the Lead Psychologist for SMS), but will work in close partnership with Edinburgh Council and third sector agency Rowan Alba (current providers of homelessness and housing support services in Edinburgh).

The work will be supported by an Assistant Psychologist (0.5 WTE band 5), for whom the post holder will have line management responsibility

The post could be offered as a job share/or on a reduced hours basis
