There are 2 full time permanent Band 6 posts available.
Midlothian Community Respiratory Team treats patients with COPD in the community, preventing admission, treating acute exacerbations at home and optimising respiratory care in a holistic way. Some patients may present with mixed respiratory disease as well as COPD. The team is multidisciplinary with support from Psychology and Dietetics. We accept referrals from GPs, hospital staff, SAS and community health care professionals.
We use data to improve our clinical service, are currently integrating a digital webapp into the service and have a very extensive Inservice training programme to support professionals entering this specialist area.
This postholder would supervise B5 Physiotherapists, clinical support workers and students. The postholder would also be involved in delivering training for a wide range of professionals and carers to increase knowledge and understanding of both the therapy process and any intervention relating to the management of patients medical and social needs.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
