NHS Orkney has an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer.

The Health Board has recently embarked on a financial recovery plan and are looking to recruit an ambitious driven individual, seeking to contribute to the improvement of quality and efficiency of services in conjunction with operational teams. As an energetic and enthusiastic individual, you will work alongside the Financial Sustainability Office (FSO) and other key stakeholders across the organisation.

As the Financial Sustainability Project Support Officer, you will be required to support the Financial Sustainability Office and its associated projects to ensure effective and timely delivery of their outcomes. The FSO will be focused on facilitating the successful delivery of the Health Board’s cost improvement programme (CIP), ensuring that NHS Orkney moves services to a more affordable and sustainable model of care across all functions. It is accepted this is a challenging task in the present NHS financial climate with pressure on resources, however the FSO has the full support and leadership from the Board of Directors who have committed resources to ensure it is both successful and rewarding.

The Project Support Officer will ensure appropriate business and project support are available to the team, managing the day-to-day running of the FSO.  The Project Support Officer will be responsible for providing a full range of project support services to programmes, assisting in the organisation and administration of all aspects of projects.

The post holder must have proven administration experience within a busy office environment, be able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation. Previous experience of working as part of a change management team would be desirable, however not essential.

This is a great opportunity to be at the heart of an evolving organisation that has already taken steps on its improvement journey. Make no mistake; these are exciting times at NHS Orkney, as we look to build upon the strong foundations of recovery and the plan to return to financial balance.
