The shift pattern for this position is day shift.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Major Trauma Coordinator to join the West of Scotland Major Trauma Centre at QEUH.

The major trauma co-ordinator is an autonomous practitioner, responsible for co-ordinating the day to day management of major trauma patients from admission to their early rehabilitation phase. They will be responsible for liaising closely with members of the multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty team, with patients, their families, other hospitals and rehabilitation centres within the Trauma Network and pre-hospital providers.

The role of the major trauma co-ordinator is multi-faceted incorporating key functions i.e. policy and protocol development, practice development, education, research and professional development. To provide leadership, guidance and support to staff and be responsible for ensuring their supervision, training and education. The post incorporates the function of case manager and involves a direct link with the Lead Consultant throughout the patient journey and all other associated medical, nursing, AHP and administrative staff in facilitating appropriate clinical interventions.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses and AHP’s. Qualified at Master Degree level with equivalent relevant experience to the clinical area and able to demonstrate specialist clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to Major trauma

You should have proven strong leadership qualities and demonstrate experience in audit/research/ improvement methodology.
