About the Organisation:
National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHSScotland providing invaluable support and advice at a strategic and operational level. NSS supports customers to deliver their services more efficiently and effectively and we offer shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We do this by working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, delivering high quality services that help our stakeholders to free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services.
The Post:
NSS, on behalf of the Health Boards and Primary Care General Practice, has recently procured next-generation GP IT systems, to be delivered as a centrally hosted managed service, which will be rolled out to all GP Practices across Scotland. In order to achieve this successfully, the Programme is seeking to recruit a GP IT Facilitation Manager to support suppliers in delivering GP IT systems, and to support and work collaboratively with Health Boards, clinicians, GP IT facilitators and eHealth teams through Scotland to ensure successful preparation and deployment of the new GP IT Services, with minimal disruption to health care in GP Practices. This activity will be supported by an implementation project team and dedicated GP IT staff from NSS.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have expertise in the operation of general practice, together with strong project management skills and a detailed understanding of existing GP IT systems. You will have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills and be able to work with health professionals in NSS, NHS boards and Local Authorities. You will have the ability to manage conflicting demands and differing priorities and negotiate with customers and suppliers to agree timescales and deadlines. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh; Delta House, Glasgow or other areas in Scotland considered.
Currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
