We are looking to recruit GPs interested in joining our in-post Lead GP in helping Aden Health Centre continue on its journey towards re-establishing the Practice after a challenging few years of transition from partnership to 2c. We think this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of shaping their workplace, without the burdens of risk and administration that come with partnership.
There has been a core of stable staff throughout the transition, and also new staff who have brought with them a fresh perspective and ideas for change that over the last year have helped move the Practice towards rediscovering the stability that makes for a good place to work. That commitment and hard work from the wider team however needs the support of engaged and enthused GPs committed to the longer term future of the practice.
We are keen to find GPs willing to engage on a longer term basis, with the opportunity to be welcomed and encouraged in contributing to the development of a practice that meets the needs of both patients and its staff, allowing you to be part of the necessary evolution of what general practice can positively be in the current climate.
Aden has a practice population of 8,500 and is part of North Buchan Cluster which includes Peterhead Hospital, with a Minor Injuries Unit and GP Medical Unit with full support services and visiting Consultant outpatient clinics.
There is excellent clinical support with a team of long established Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Practice Pharmacy services, First Point of Contact Physiotherapist, Practice and Community nursing and Care Management.
We are one of three 2c Practices in the area, and AHSCP have put considerable effort into supporting each practice, with proactive steps being made to bring them closer together in terms of working practices and mutual support. Dedicated individuals providing GP, ANP and Pharmacy clinical leadership, support and mentoring have become a large part of that and will continue.
Mintlaw is home to Aden Country Park; recognised as one of Scotland’s top green spaces. The general area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with walking, water sports, multiple golf courses and wildlife watching opportunities nearby - all contributing towards an important work/life balance.
We would welcome applications from those willing to work on a full-time, part-time, job share, annualised hours and/or 4, 8 or 12 week block working basis. We recognise the importance of work/life balance and want to engage with clinicians who appreciate this for themselves and the people they work with.
The salary is £69,993 - £104,469 per annum (pro rata if part-time) dependent on negotiation, though we are keen to ensure salaries are competitive.
There is no out of hours commitment although sessions are available locally. .
