This is a Fixed term post for 8.75months.

This is a fixed term post available 22.5 hours per week for 8.75 months, however applicants who may wish experience of working one day in the pain service over this period are also invited.

As this is a GGC wide service there is flexibility in where this post will be based, with New Victoria Hospital, Stobhill ACH, Gartnavel General Hospital and Inverclyde Royal Hospital all considered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the largest AHP chronic pain service in Scotland. The Greater Glasgow and Clyde chronic pain service serves a population of over 1.2 million people, supporting individuals to live well with chronic pain.  The AHP pain service is progressive in its approach and the successful candidate will have a varied job plan working across a range of the different aspects of the service.  These include secondary care physiotherapy, GGC pain management programme, Scottish National Pain Management Programme (hosted in GGC) and Pain Early Information Sessions (PEIS).  In addition, the individual will have the opportunity to be involved in enhanced MDT vetting sessions, weekly MDT meetings, audit and research projects, building relationships in the Scottish AHP Pain Network and supporting rotational staff and students. 

The AHP pain service has a proven track record of being an exciting service to work within.  The team is motivated to continually improve the patient experience and alongside clinical work team members are supported with personal and service development projects.  Additionally the service has a clear career structure providing opportunity for future progression.

It is essential that you have a degree or diploma in physiotherapy and are currently HCPC registered as a physiotherapist. You will have post graduate experience in a relevant outpatient or long-term condition based service.  Ideally you will have experience of working with patients who suffer from chronic pain and working within a multidisciplinary team.  You will be motivated by person centered care, service development and will be forward thinking in how pain physiotherapy services are delivered in the future.
