An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Neonatal Unit at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, Community Neonatal Liaison Nurse to join our team.

We are a Local Neonatal Unit, consisting of 4 ITU, 2 High Dependency and 12 Special Care cots.

At present we have 4 qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in post and 2 trainee ANNPs

We are looking for an individual to join our Community Neonatal Team. You must possess excellent communication skills. This post will involve generating and managing own workload whilst working closely with the Band 6 Community Liaison Nurse. The post requires lone working. You will provide a family centred service to educate and prepare parents of babies who were born prematurely and/or have complex needs transition into the home environment.

We aim to provide a 7 day service for babies discharged into the community; therefore weekend working is essential to this role.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care and use a holistic approach to family centred care.

An up to date knowledge of evidence based practise and a commitment to the delivery of clinically effective care within neonates is essential.

You will have a recognised clinical qualification as a registered nurse (child branch) or midwife, with evidence of on-going professional development.
