NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
We are looking for an experienced Adult Psychotherapist to join our established team in North East Glasgow on a full-time, permanent basis. The department is composed of a diverse group of staff with varied training backgrounds, including six Adult Psychotherapists (most of whom are Group Analysts), two Consultant Psychiatrists in Medical Psychotherapy, and a Higher Trainee in Medical Psychotherapy. The post involves carrying out psychodynamic assessments and treatments with people who have complex needs, providing supervision and training for departmental and non-departmental colleagues carrying out group and individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as consultation work and serving a containing function for staff across the North East sector. We are looking for someone with highly developed knowledge of the psychoanalytic theory of human behaviour, development and psychopathology, who has undertaken post-graduate training and is registered with the UKCP or BPC by the time the role commences. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of professional registration will be required prior to start date. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
