An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join the healthpoint team which is part of the wider NHS Grampian Health Improvement Team as a Community Healthpoint Advisor. This is a diverse, public facing frontline role based in Dr Grays Hospital as well as community venues. We are a small dynamic team working with a range of partners across all ages and stages.
The successful candidate will be required to interact with the public and health professionals to provide health and wellbeing information, support and advice. Working as part of a team, the post holder will work with individuals, groups and communities in creative and innovative ways to support individuals and communities to make positive changes.
The post holder will support with behaviour change techniques, using motivational interviewing skills on topics such as smoking, healthy eating and physical activity. Training is offered to support the post holder in the role and provide an opportunity to further develop knowledge and skills.
Good time management and an ability to maintain accurate records and submit reports is essential. The post holder will have the ability to speak autonomously and work well as part of a wider team.
This post would appeal to a person with an interest in the wider determinants of health, an understanding of health inequalities and the passion to work towards enhancing positive changes with an individual, family or local community.
Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have experience of dealing with the general public. Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft packages including Teams, Word and Excel is essential.
