Pharmacy Technician Higher Level
2 x Band 5 permanent posts
37.5 hours worked over Monday to Friday.
We are looking for two suitably qualified, highly motivated and pro-active Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly and supportive team to assist with the delivery of Pharmacy Vocational Qualifications to Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians (PRPTs) and Pharmacy Support Workers (PSWs).
Our team supports pharmacy staff across a wide range of services and specialties so that they may undertake national qualifications and educational programmes to aid their career progression.
These posts will have a key role in supporting the development of our pharmacy support workers and in particular our Pharmacy Technician capacity through the expansion of our NHS GG&C PRPT Training Program. They will have a focus on pharmacy support staff either acute, or in primary care, with the aim of supporting them to meet the competencies required in the SVQ Pharmacy Services SCQF Levels 6 & 8 as per the Pharmacy Regulator General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) requirements.
You will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Education and Training Team liaising closely with each of its members to ensure the exchange of key information affecting the efficient delivery of education and training to all support staff across all sectors of Pharmacy Services.
You must be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate the key members of staff involved in supporting our PRPTs as well as the trainees themselves. You must have excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to organise and prioritise your assigned workload. You will be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and essentially must have attained a Work Place Based Assessor Award (D 32/33, A Units or the L&D 9DI).
Ideally you should also have:
- a full UK driving license
- have completed, or be working towards, the Internal Verification award (L&D 11)
- Experience of Teaching/mentoring staff in pharmacy.
- Developing and delivering education and training programmes
- Research, project management or audit including supervision of others
- Managing and motivating staff, appraising and giving feedback
The shift pattern of this post is Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
