Over recent years NHS Tayside has committed to increased investment in the Area Psychological Therapies Service. The Service now has a complement of around 200 clinical and applied staff with an additional 20 trainees. Opportunity exists to combine a number of specialist posts to reflect career interests of suitable applicants. The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. Opportunities exist for involvement in teaching and research, taking advantage of close links with Universities of Dundee and Stirling. Members of the Department also contribute to the supervision and training of trainees on the Edinburgh/East and South of Scotland Clinical Teaching Course, the Universities of Stirling and Dundee MSc Course and the Child course.
This post presents an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to develop your skills and join the dynamic and developing Tayside Substance Misuse Psychology Service. You will be based in the Dundee substance misuse team (DDARS), but also contribute to the work of the wider NHS Tayside substance misuse psychology team and you will provide a high quality specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychology service to clients of Tayside substance misuse services. You will provide consultancy and training across health, social work and the voluntary sector partners.
You should be an individual who has an interest in behaviour change interventions and complex psychological problems including traumatic stress disorders.
