An exciting 2-year fixed term or secondment opportunity has arisen in the Health protection team for a Health Protection Nurse Specialist (HPNS).
The HPNS is a crucial member of this team using highly specialist, evidence-based knowledge to:
- Provide a professional, co-ordinated response to communicable disease, infection prevention and control and non-infectious hazards to health;
- Provide a proactive, highly specialist nurse advisory, prevention and education service for communicable disease and infection prevention and control;
- In order to protect the health of the public and minimise the risk of outbreaks of infection, it is essential that the HPNS develops and maintains communication networks in order to communicate infection risks and control strategies to other professionals, service users and the general public.
You will be working within an experienced dynamic team including Consultants in Public Health (Medicine), Health Protection Nurses and Health Protection Officers, and will work with other Public Health Teams, Heath and Social Care colleagues and partners outside of NHS Grampian.
This post is based in Summerfield House, NHS Grampian with some options for hybrid working. They will work mainly within office hours Monday-Friday, with an on-call commitment for weekends and weekdays as 1 in 5.
