An exciting opportunity has arisen for a one year fixed term Band 7 Physicians Associate within the Aberdeen City HSCP Hospital @ Home (H@H) team based on Woodend Hospital site. While the post is full time, part time candidates may be considered. Any part time applicants wishing to be apply are asked to identify their preferred hours within their application.
H@H provides hospital level acute medical care within patients own homes, over 7 days per week. We are working towards becoming a 24/7 service.
We are looking for a motivated team member, with a post graduate diploma in Physician Assistant studies from a UK university which is interlinked with the UK national Physician Assistant/Associate exam or equivalent qualification. You must be registered with the UK managed voluntary register for Physician Assistants/Associates and subsequently the Royal College of Physicians to provide the diagnosis and management of patient conditions through the assessment, treatment and review planning process in partnership with patients and families, utilising high levels of decision making and clinical judgment. Specialist advice will be provided to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives. The Physician Associate role encompasses that of expert clinician, educator and auditor.
You will assist in the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines and policies. You will be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising basic standards of care and professionalism.
Previous experience within an acute setting and working in frailty/acute medical /general practice would be desirable.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Aberdeen City area is essential for this post. The successful candidate must therefore own or have access to a car for work purposes and hold a full UK driving licence.
