The Post: 
In Public Health Scotland’s Strategy, Governance & Performance directorate, the Strategy & Transformation team is at the heart of Scotland’s national public health body.  We lead and support PHS to set and deliver its strategic direction and transform as an organisation to realise its potential.   
We are looking to appoint seven Project Manager(s) working across a range of transformation and service delivery projects, these include: 

•    Transformation and Innovation, supports the implementation of our transformation programme and the development of our approach to innovation.  
 
•    Digital and Security Data, provides programme and project management support for our key Digital projects across a wide range of technologies, platforms and complexity, therefore experience of working on Digital projects is essential. 
 
•    Medicated Assisted Treatment Implementation Support Team (MIST), this post provides Project Management Support for MIST based within our Clinical and Protecting Health directorate.  

Posts are offered as a generic project manager and all applicants will be considered for all, the deployment to specific project or programmes will be agreed with successful candidates once in post.  

You will be joining dynamic teams, working to effect change to improve outcomes for people in communities and to develop and enable a Public Health Scotland culture with a focus on impact and solutions.   

The Candidate: 
The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with an interest in Public Health and extensive experience of using recognised project methodologies to deliver a variety of project types on time and to budget.   

They should be both passionate and proficient in project management. They should undertake formal programme and project management training e.g. Managing Successful Programmes™ and PRINCE2™ and have proven project management experience: Co-ordinating all Project Phases including Initiation, Design, Implementation, Transition and Support.  

Good knowledge and understanding of Digital Product Development, Scottish Approach to Service Design, Agile and Lean would also be beneficial. 

It is essential the candidate is able to work autonomously, think ahead and proactively plan and manage project activity, risk and resources.  They should have experience and be comfortable working with Executive Teams, Partners and Staff to successfully deliver on time and to budget.  

The posts will report directly to an Organisational Lead within the Transformation and Innovation Service. 

Location and Working Pattern: 
The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Central Quay, Glasgow. 

Public Health Scotland operate a hybrid model, working both at home and in the office. 

Applicants on any working pattern, between Monday to Friday, are welcome to apply for this post though it will be important that the candidate is able to attend key meetings. 

During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service. 

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
