The purpose of the ward is to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with acute complex neurosurgical, neurology & OMFS conditions.  All employees at Band 3 will have completed the Health Care Support Worker Competency Profile designed to structure the Induction, Orientation and Development of Health Care Support Workers. Completing all competencies in a minimum 6 month – maximum 9 month period.  Post holder will act within the principles of the NHSGGC Code of Professional Conduct for HCSW’s.  As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide care to patients in support of the trained nurse and will regularly work unsupervised.  To provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients within Neurosurgery, Neurology & OMFS meeting the identified physical and psychological needs.  You should have the:

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work unsupervised.
  • Caring disposition with experience working in a caring environment/role at a band 2 level
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills/literacy/numeracy skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, base level theoretic knowledge
  • Knowledge of clinical observations
