An exciting opportunity has arisen for a community mental health nurse to work with older adults experiencing mental health problems.   The post will be based within the Lawson Memorial Hospital, Golspie, within the east Sutherland integrated team for health and social care, but will cover all of Sutherland, developing strong working links with primary care and other statutory / voluntary care providers.

The post holder will deliver recovery-based approaches, have the ability to autonomously manage their caseload which will consist of individuals who experience a wide range of mental health problems including alzheimer's, vascular dementia, anxiety, depression and psychosis.  They will also be responsible for the training of and sharing of knowledge with colleagues.   

The successful candidate will be a registered mental health nurse with a current valid registration with the NMC. A degree or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience in older adult community mental health is also required.

A full UK driving licence is essential and, though a pool car may be available, applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes. They will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This is a part-time permanent post of 30 hours per week, to be worked in accordance with service requirements.
